- Has almost a full set of teeth
- Uses simple words and sentences
- Likes to turn book pages

to 3 years

- Can repeat simple rhymes
- Speak in sentences of 3 to 5 words
- Can identify at least one color correctly

to 4 years

- Can wash and dry face and hands
- Very sensitive to criticism          
- Tests the boundaries of authority
- Needs assurance and praise

to 5 years

- Learns to ice skate or roller blade
- Has a vocabulary of over 2000 words  
- Enjoys cooperative play
- Likes the idea of school
